Is The US Embassy In Manila Currently Accepting Tourist Visa Applications?

The quick answer to this question is “no”.

According to the website of the US Embassy in Manila, there is a wait time of 447 calendar days to get an appointment for an interview for a tourist visa application. The Consular Section only provides service to “urgent” and emergency cases — more specifically described as “matters of life and death” travel needs.

What if I have already paid the visa fee? Will my payment be revoked?

The Embassy will extend the validity of visa fee payments (or MRV fee) until September 30, 2022. This should allow applicants enough time to schedule a visa appointment as soon as the US Embassy resumes visa processing. To be first inline, you have to check the US Embassy site regularly at https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-updates. You can reschedule the first available visa interview appointment slot by calling: +632 7792-8988 or +632 8548-8223. You may also book an online appointment at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/. If you still can’t get an appointment, you may send an email to support-philippines@ustraveldocs.com.

Rescheduling your appointment is free of charge.

I have an emergency and I need to leave for the US immediately. What do I do?

For Non-immigrant visa applicants who wish to avail of the expedite appointment request, submit your request via the US Embassy website at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-visaapply.asp.

You have to book a regular appointment through the appointment system before you can request an expedited appointment through http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-expeditedappointment.asp.

Students and temporary employment visas (H-1B, H-2B) applications are also considered as “urgent” and therefore, may request to have their applications expedited.
