The DOT Hotline Number For Travel Restrictions

Are you already as confused as I am trying to remember the different restrictions and requirements when traveling to different areas in our country?

When border restrictions started easing up one after another, I was only focused on Baguio City because that’s where most of our relatives live and is our only destination during holidays and long weekends. In Baguio, you can visit even without an RT-PCR or Antigen test as long as you are fully vaccinated and have been granted a QR code by the Baguio Visita website. But I realized pretty soon that entry protocols to other provinces are not the same as Baguio’s.

Good thing the DOT made it easier for local tourists to get the accurate list of requirements per province (per entry) by assigning a hotline that is dedicated to inquiries on travel restrictions. Now, if you have any questions about a certain provinces’ protocols, just call the DOT hotline at 1-386.

The hotline is available from 9AM to 6PM everyday (Monday to Sunday), catering to both English and Filipino-speaking callers.

So, if you are planning an out-of-town holiday with your family or barkada, make sure to call the DOT first to get the most updated list of travel requirements to your destination. Please do not attempt to travel without first checking that you are able to comply to the requirements as you might be refused entry (they do that in Baguio — doesn’t matter if you drove five hours to get there, haha!).

And always, remember to protect yourself: wear a face mask, avoid crowded areas, observe social distancing, and sanitize, sanitize, sanitize!

Have fun, everyone and welcome to the new normal of traveling!
